I’m Hannah.
Known to my students as Ms Grayson
I’ve spent the last nine years teaching English Literature and First Language English across England, Hanoi and Mexico City, including at two of the highest-performing schools in Vietnam and Mexico.
I’m passionate about helping students develop a deeper understanding of the texts they study, think critically and express their ideas with clarity, precision and sophistication. My teaching goes beyond preparing students for exams: I want them to become perceptive readers and confident, articulate writers who can construct thoughtful arguments and engage independently with challenging ideas.
My approach combines enthusiasm, patience and individual support with consistently high academic expectations. I take the time to understand how each student thinks and learns, challenging them to develop their ideas, refine their analysis and produce work of the highest standard.
I now work with IGCSE and IB students internationally, providing tailored one-to-one tuition that develops the subject knowledge, analytical skills and examination expertise needed to achieve exceptional results.

My teaching focuses on developing sophisticated interpretations, constructing perceptive arguments and understanding how to apply your knowledge effectively in examinations. Every lesson is one-to-one and tailored to your individual strengths, areas for development, exam board and goals.
You might notice some references to A-level English Literature on my site. I used to offer it, but because of the wide range of set texts involved, I’ve decided I can serve students better by focusing on IGCSE and IB, where I can give each text the depth it deserves. I’m gradually removing the A-level content, so if you come across anything I’ve missed, thank you for bearing with me.
